PARENT WORKSHOP/WINTER PARTY
Our next Pre-K workshop is this FRIDAY at 10:00 a.m.  The students will be acting out The Night Before Christmas, and our project for the month will be to decorate a gingerbread man with icing and trimings.  We will also be having our Christmas Party to celebrate the end of the year.  It will be a fun day for all.  Please make plans to come and join us this Friday.
 
Birthdays
We want to send out a special birthday greeting to Ester who celebrated her birthday yester December 16.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  IT'S GREAT TO BE FIVE!!!!

Winter Holiday Party

A letter has been sent home regarding our Winter Party.  We are asking parents' for a $5 donation to help with materials and food for our party.  Thanks in advance to all those who help.  We truly appreciate the parental support.

Reminders

  1. Please read and talk to your child every night.
  2. Please help your child write their name and recognize the letters in their name.
  3. Please help remind your child of our classroom rules.
  4. Please continue to discuss classroom rules with your child.
  5. Please count objects to 20.
  6. Please work on letter sounds and recognizing initial sounds in words.
  7. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE during the holidays.

Snacks

 Aleyse is scheduled to bring snacks when we return from vacation .

Thank you Rudy for bringing snacks this week for Mrs. Andress' room.  Diego is scheduled to bring snacks when we return from vacation.

This Week, Students Will......
 
Math
1.Recognize, describe and name shapes.
2. Begin to use tools to imitate measuring (nonstandard).
 
Literacy
1.  Uses language to express common routines and familiar scripts including use of appropriate volume and rate in formal and informal settings.
2. Begin to compare language and oral traditions that reflect customs and cultures through dramatizations
3. Connect his/her own experiences with the life experiences, language, customs adn culture of others.
4. Identify the letter "Gg"
 
Science
1.Use one or more of the five senses to observe and to learn about objects, events,plants and animals.
2. Share observations and findings with others through pictures, discussions or dramatizations
3. Gather information using simple tools such as a magnifying lens, and double pan balance.
4.  Observe, describe and identify properties of water.
 
Social Studies
1. Compare self to other classmates and those from other cultures to identify similarities and differences between and among people.
